I've have twenty years experience building enterprise web application for national and international clients. I've built APIs, apps and content managed websites for airlines, airports and financial services organisations to name a few.

  • 20+ years working with .net and C# and related tech (EntityFramework, SQL Server etc)
  • 20+ years working with front end technologies including React, Angular and Vue all the way back to plain old HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Current Research

After twenty years using .net and related technologies I'm broadening my horizons, learning Go, Python and AI/ML, and consolidating my knowledge of terraform.

SODA
A toy project to enable me to learn Go, soda is a Self-hOsted Database As a service. I'm taking a ground-up approach to learning Go, starting with the standard library and basic functionality in order to grasp the fundamentals, before mixing in web frameworks and other libraries. Terraform
I've worked with different teams and organisations deploying infrastructure with terraform and I'm consolidating that knowledge through a series of project in the home lab. Keep an eye on the blog for more details.

Python and AL/ML
I'm learning tensorflow from books and the web. I don't yet have any working projects to show. Watch this space.
